swiss unihockey hub: Building the Digital Home of Swiss Floorball

Digital match operations: Paperless online game reports
Growing an engaged digital community: 84,312 registered users
Enabling matchday access: 10× more digital attendees per game
The Challenge
Unihockey, also known internationally as floorball, is one of the most popular sports in Switzerland, with a deeply engaged player and fan base across all levels. Swiss unihockey initially set out to find an OTT streaming solution for its top-tier men’s and women’s leagues, the Lidl Unihockey Prime League (L-UPL). However, upon discovering the Sportswik platform, the federation recognised a broader opportunity: instead of focusing solely on elite broadcasts, they could build a centralised, federation-owned digital hub to serve the entire sport from grassroots to the highest leagues. The goal quickly evolved from streaming to full digital transformation.
The Solution
In 2023, the swiss unihockey hub was launched, powered by the Sportswik platform. The hub integrates real-time user-generated content, livestreams, statistics and federation communications into one cohesive ecosystem. As part of this transformation, swiss unihockey became one of the first floorball associations in the world to fully digitise its match protocol process moving from paper-based game reports to a digital solution known internally as the Online Game Report (OGR). Team staff and referees now complete match reports entirely within the platform, streamlining operations and increasing accuracy. The swiss unihockey hub now serves as the digital heartbeat of the sport enabling players, fans, volunteers and clubs across all levels to participate in shaping and sharing the unihockey story, while supporting greater operational efficiency and creating new revenue opportunities.
