MySoccer Powered by BMO Pilot: A Digital Breakthrough for Ontario Soccer

User generated match coverage: 98% with live scoring
Operational efficiency gain: Paper protocols replaced
Strong retention rate: 63 sessions per user
The Challenge
Ontario Soccer, Canada’s largest provincial soccer governing body, oversees over 500+ clubs and 24,000 teams and a community of more than 1 million Ontarians. Yet, youth and amateur matches had little digital presence, limiting fan connection, sponsor value and media visibility. Clubs operated with analogue workflows and had minimal control over their own content or data. Meanwhile, sponsors lacked targeted, measurable ways to engage with grassroots audiences in meaningful ways.
The Solution
To modernise grassroots soccer coverage and unlock value across the entire ecosystem, Ontario Soccer launched its MySoccer App Powered by BMO in May 2025. The platform offers a fully-controlled, digital media space for districts, leagues, competitions, clubs and teams enabling them to share live scores, videos and match reports directly with their communities.
The benefits of Ontario Soccer’s MySoccer App Powered by BMO include:
- Automated schedules, results and rosters via an integration with Ontario Soccer’s existing competition management system.
- Team administrators can manage line-ups directly in the app, and there is no extra work for officials or coordinators — the platform simply streamlines and digitises existing tasks.
- For families, friends and fans, Ontario Soccer’s MySoccer App Powered by BMO brings matches to life through real-time updates, photos, and cheering features that strengthen community bonds.
- For partners and sponsors like BMO, the app opens new opportunities for hyper-targeted digital activations, helping generate sustainable revenue for the provincial soccer ecosystem.

The Results
(Pilot Phase)
- During the pilot phase Ontario Soccer was able to onboard 17,164 registered users and cover 2,441 matches, with an average of 224 viewers per match, demonstrating strong early traction across Ontario’s grassroots soccer community.
- An impressive 98% of matches featured live scoring — a testament to both the app’s user-friendly design and the enthusiasm of team administrators. By digitising existing workflows, the app effectively enhanced and in part even replaced paper-based match protocols with a faster, more efficient system.
- The app generated 44 million page views, with users averaging 63 sessions each and spending 2 minutes and 45 seconds per session. These metrics highlighted Ontario Soccer’s MySoccer App’s strong engagement potential, demonstrating its ability to keep fans coming back for more and gave Ontario Soccer the confidence to invest in expanding the platform’s reach across the province.
"The immediate impact of our new Ontario Soccer MySoccer App Powered by BMO has exceeded our expectations. In the short pilot phase, we saw thousands of users embrace the platform, real-time match coverage flourish and a clear path forward for digitally transforming grassroots soccer in Ontario."
